Community Benefits
Long Beach Medical Center provided $2,256,000.00 in Community Benefit in 2010. Community Benefit includes uncovered costs of medical education, charity care; care not covered by Medicare/Medicaid, as well as community health education and outreach programs, and subsidized health services.
Economic Benefits
In 2011, Long Beach Medical Center generated approximately $166,261,000 in revenue for the local economy according to a recent report by the Hospital Association of New York State (HANYS), New York State’s largest hospital trade association. The report also found that during the same time period, Long Beach Medical Center provided approximately $2, 256,000 in uncompensated care while sustaining more than 1,059 jobs in Long Beach.
Community Service Plan
Long Beach Medical Center's mission is to provide high quality health care services that meet the health care needs of the communities it serves (Long Beach, Lido Beach, Point Lookout, Atlantic Beach, Island Park, and other neighboring communities). The Medical Center works collaboratively with the Nassau County Department of Health and other Nassau County health providers to develop initiatives directed at local community health concerns.
